Tribute to a Goddess Yet Unborn
-------------------------------

In that dark hour in which today becomes tomorrow
Enthroned yet unrecognized, she waits in the night
She is nameless and unborn --- the goddess of sorrow

Above the heavens, like stars do her brethren glow
She alone does not ascend, still withholding her might
In that dark hour in which today becomes tomorrow

Her left hand holds wisdom; in her right hand lies woe
Both of them her divine gift to mortals in their plight
She is nameless and unborn --- the goddess of sorrow

Neither merely curse nor blessing does she bestow
Her realm lies in mourning and in learning in hindsight
In that dark hour in which today becomes tomorrow

Yet though her power was awakened many eons ago
No shrine has she, neither offerings nor solemn rite
She is nameless and unborn --- the goddess of sorrow

So now I proffer this tribute to her for all to know
That still there is a goddess who has not taken flight
In that dark hour in which today becomes tomorrow
She is nameless and unborn --- the goddess of sorrow

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Aeguary, in the year 373 AF.
