"I am excited to greet a perhaps violent creature from betwixt the planes of existence riding on the winds of potential cataclysm." - Khairt Drac'Kal, 677 AF
Little did the Samatha know the truth of his words as he and his brethren made the preparations to capture the Empress' Simir.
Deep in the Ithmia, the village of Eleusis seemed little affected by matters of the world. Its three Houses stood as the stalwart protectors of nature, its citizenry vigilant against any threat. Trees stretched their lofty boughs, new leaves budded and grew and withered and fell, and the cycle of life continued as it has from the beginnings of creation.
But this was all to change, to be blamed perhaps upon imperious whim. The deadlands of Nishnatoba were quiet as the Jade Empress and Her Order prepared to lure and capture a companion creature from Lady Lorielan's youth. Drawing upon the power of Elara's piece of the Sceptre of Divinity, the Jade Empress bid all to watch as She incised a great portal into the ether and summoned the Ventos Allegos to Her.
The response from the graveyard plane was instant; the ever-mourning skies clouded, and the ground heaved. A tumultuous quake shuddered through the bones of the ancient battlefield throwing nearly all to their knees. The force of the catastrophic event resonated across the planes, its harsh tremors felt even by those stood upon Achaea... and by the Goddess Artemis, Who had been resting in the magmatic cradle of Her volcano for decades.
Their structures tormented by the shuddering ground, and adding to the whirling nightmare of Nishnatoba, the great House Icons trembled and cracked. Felled by force into worthless fragments, one by one the great Icons toppled until only one remained: the Stag Crown, Icon of the Sentinels of Nature. With a flash of interrupted power this lone guardian finally tumbled, sundering upon the black earth. The Ventos Allegos leapt as if shocked, and surged to travel along this final glimpse of life to the shadow Icon, and the forests of central Sapience.
As the tendrils of the strange phenomena crept through the forests, Cataclysm and Wildwood Queen joined to grant audience within the volcano of Nature's Fury, greeting the beginning of a new era side by side.
-------
Summary: Lorielan summons a magical phenomenon to return to Her a companion from Her youth, the effects cause a massive earthquake which brings down the last of the remaining Icons, and wakes Artemis from Her long slumber.
Penned by My hand on the 9th of Mayan, in the year 677 AF.
