Consumeables.

Hey all,

We're going to make a change to how promotional consumeables work going forward. First the change, then the reasons:

Consumeables will now decay (including in stockrooms) and upon decaying will auto award you the credits they would have traded in for.

There are a few reasons we've decided on doing this:
- We'd like to give out more consumeables in promotions, but currently we can't really justify doing so because there are so many consumeables sitting on dormant characters clogging up the database. We did a lot of behind the scenes work to address many similar problems in 2024, but this one has been a bit of the elephant in the room. We're happy with the auto tradein solution though, and feel like that's a reasonable compromise.

- We'd like to trial more consumeables, but this is always very risky given people have the (completely understandable) tendency to sit on that one consumeable that was problematic until the perfect moment comes around, which doesn't feel good for anyone. Historically we've addressed this by banning consumeables from staff games and similar, but moving to this model we'll likely no longer need to do that as we can be much more confident of what is available at any given time.

On auto tradein in particular:

When deriving who gets the auto tradein credits, this is how its checked:
- The person holding the item (in a container is fine, it'll keep going until it finds someone or determines there is no one.
- The person whose mark the item has (if any).
- If neither, no credits are awarded. Basically, don't drop your consumeables in a house or something, and you will be fine.

On what items are impacted:

Bottles of fairy dust.
Miniature wooden horses.
Grey and clouded glass bottles.
Translucent masks.
Ink-stained rose thorns.
Heart-shaped chocolates.
Lanterns.

There will be a line on probe for an item if it autotradeins upon decay, so if you're still not certain that is an easy way to check.
