To learn new languages requires:
1) gold sovereigns
2) language learning lessons
3) a language teacher
4) time

Language learning sessions: gold costs
--------------------------------------
Learning a new language costs 1,000 gold sovereigns per lesson for the first
twenty six sessions that you learn, which would take you to full fluency in
one language. The gold cost for this would be 26,000.

After that, every twenty six sessions cost three times as much as the previous.

So your second 'set' of twenty six sessions will cost 3,000 gold sovereigns per
session. Your third, 9,000.

NOTE: The gold and language lesson cost is extracted at the VERY END of any
learning session. Don't put your money away! Have it available as the lesson
ends.

Each language session costs one lesson, no matter how many languages you have
learnt.


Language learning sessions: time costs

Beyond the time during the sessions, which is not too terribly long, there is
also the wait between sessions, which may only be taken once each Achaean
month.


Language lessons

Newly-arrived adventurers, at 18 years of age, gain nine language lessons.
Each Achaean year, all adventurers gain an additional three language lessons.

Language learning for languages you already know
------------------------------------------------
You may know a language due to your race, such as if you're a Xorani you will
speak Xorani! You can STILL study Xorani - and then you will never lose the
language even if you change race.


Language learning lessons: buying, trading, converting, etc.

You can't do it. Lessons may only be gained by ageing. Period. They can't be
given, traded, bought, sold, loaned, converted, traded in, gambled, or anything
else.
