19.13.7 Customisation Guidelines
(See also HELP GIFT CUSTOMISATIONS, HELP CUSTOMISATION REQUESTS, HELP CLASS ITEM CUSTOMISATION, HELP ARTEFACTS, and HELP ARTEFACT TRADEINS) Whilst every effort is made to accommodate even the most imaginative of customisations, there are certain limits and restrictions that cannot be overlooked. Base Words ----------- The base word is that which appears in INFO INV or INFO HERE. Though the general appearance of an item/creature may be altered, its base word cannot. A 'falcon' must remain a 'falcon', a 'rose' must remain a 'rose', a 'ribbon' must remain a 'ribbon', and so forth. There is only one exception to this rule, and that is if you are making the base word more simple whilst retaining the nature of the item. For example, a 'shortsword' could become a 'sword' or a 'darkbow' could become a 'bow'. Materials ---------- The following materials are not permitted: - Shadows/Darkness Though the Tsol'teth have gifted Depthswalkers with some understanding and manipulation over shadow, they are not masters. The knowledge is stolen, and so there is no 'base' understanding that would allow for the creation of, as an example, a shadow longsword or a shield of darkness. Items such as these would require intervention from Twilight or the Tsol'teth. - Clockwork This includes any mechanism akin to clockwork, such as gears and cogs. General Themes --------------- The following item/creature themes are not permitted: - Historicity An item cannot be linked to a prominent moment in history. This means that it cannot have been forged by the skill of the Tsol'teth, nor forged in the dragonfire of Sycaerunax, nor broken away from the boughs of Yggdrasil. Similarly, items may not link back to sources of great power. - Player Resemblance A customisation may not bear the resemblance of either yourself or another adventurer. HELP CRAFTING GUIDELINES can also serve as a guide reference for writing and suitability.
